Did you know…Drinking beverages such as soda, fruit juice, sports drinks, alcohol, specialty coffees and teas can add up to many “empty calories”. Nutritionally speaking, these calories contribute little more nutrition to our diets except plain, old calories. These empty calories can account for putting on extra weight if it is not compensated for by consuming fewer calories from other foods.
Since it is important to drink fluids throughout the day, select them wisely.
This is incredibly underrated advice– empty calories derived from sugary beverages are one of the leading causes of obesity, yet it’s a critically under-discussed aspect of proper diet. For many people, the quickest and most effective way to burn excess fat is to simply cut things like sodas out of their diet.
